Selection Process
for the 2011 Connecticut State Team
Connecticut
residents will accumulate points over a two-year period. Selection will be based
on a two-year point total equaling the sum of 25% of the player’s earned points
during the first year (2010)
and 75% of the player’s earned points
during the second year (2011).
Points will
be awarded to the top amateur players residing in
CT
as
below. If the selection deadline precedes the second year of an event, the
first year of that event will be given the 75% weight of a second year event.
In the event that two or more players tie, the points for the places will
be averaged and divided equally. For example, if two players tie for 7th
place at the CT Open, each player would be awarded 35 points (average of 7th &
8th place points).

points will be
awarded to
CT amateurs as follows:

75 points |
| Site Qualifier |
50 points |
| Site Alternate |
25 points |
For each level of play that the player advances in subsequent
events that she has qualified for, she will receive 50 points (e.g., 50 points
for each round of match play, 50 points for additional qualifying for match
play).
Site Qualifying is considered the first round of the
event. A player earns the points for the highest level reached. Local and
Sectional qualifiers are considered separate events. For each level of play that the player advances,
including each round of match play, she will receive 50 points.
Players should notify the committee about results in events the committee would
not be monitoring in due course of its
Connecticut
mission, particularly USGA events.
The State Team Selection Committee will use this point system
as a guideline. Additional intangible
factors also will be part of the selection process including, but not limited
to:
