Joining SNEWGA

Attention Women Golfers...

  • Do you live in Connecticut or a neighboring state?

  • Do you enjoy playing at many different golf courses?

  • Do you enjoy meeting and competing with other women golfers?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should consider joining SNEWGA (Southern New England Women's Golf Association).

What is SNEWGA?
The Southern New England Women's Golf Association, organized in 1956, exists for the promotion of golf for women within the state of Connecticut and neighboring states.  SNEWGA membership is open to all women's associations from public, semi-private, and private golf clubs.  There is no handicap limit to join SNEWGA.  For tournaments, however, the handicap limit is in compliance with USGA handicap limitations for competitions.

  • SNEWGA is currently made up of over 40 member clubs and over 500 individual members.

  • The cost of membership is $30 per club per annum and $15 for individual memberships.

  • Individual members must be members of a member club (see Option #1 under "HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF SNEWGA" below).

  • SNEWGA is affiliated with the United States Golf Association (USGA) and Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA)

  • There are nine Major Tournaments each year in addition to invitational events and SNEWGA Sundays.

  • Most clubs kick-off the season by participating in our better ball Spring Cup tournament and wind down the season in August/September in our team match play Presidents Cup.

  • Each member club must host a tournament at least once every third year.

OPTION #1 (most common)

  • Join a ladies league that is an affiliated SNEWGA member club

  • After joining a ladies league of the club you choose, there is an additional yearly fee of $15 to be an annual member of SNEWGA.

To learn more about the ladies leagues at your local SNEWGA club, click the Member Club link below.  You may also contact SNEWGA's Membership VP, Leslie Harrison, who will put an appropriate person in touch with you.

SNEWGA Member Club List

  • SNEWGA also offers a one-time only, one-year introductory individual membership for those who don't have a club or ladies league affiliation.

  • The cost for a one-time, one-year introductory individual membership is $25.  This is an introductory offer to help you determine if you like the SNEWGA organization.  We’re convinced that after a year of playing with us, you’ll decide to join SNEWGA as a regular member (as described in Option #1).

  • Print a copy of the 2017 Introductory Membership Registration form and return it with your $25 check, made payable to SNEWGA.

Note:  Members joining as individuals and not affiliated with any member club are ONLY eligible to compete in Invitationals and SNEWGA Sundays.

If you're interested in discussing MEMBERSHIP options in more detail, contact SNEWGA’s Membership VP, Leslie Harrison

We hope you decide to join SNEWGA!
